Freddie Prinze Jr. son new look is getting plenty of attention after the teenager showed off a fresh haircut that has fans noticing his striking resemblance to his famous father. Rocky Prinze, 14, recently appeared in photos shared by his mother, actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, during a family weekend at the racetrack.
The pictures quickly caught the attention of entertainment fans, with many noticing how much Rocky resembles Freddie Prinze Jr. after trading his longer hair for a short buzz cut. The new hairstyle brings back memories of the actor’s own look during the early 2000s, making the father-and-son resemblance even more noticeable.
Sarah shared the family photos on Instagram on October 26, 2026, with the caption, “Race weekend with my boys.” The post featured moments from the family’s time supporting Rocky’s passion for go-kart racing.
Freddie Prinze Jr.’s Son Rocky Shows Off a New Look
Rocky Prinze’s new hairstyle has become the main talking point among fans following the latest family photos.
Previously, the 14-year-old sported longer brown hair. His recent close-cropped haircut gives him a noticeably different appearance and highlights the similarities between him and his father.
Freddie Prinze Jr. has worn short hair in the past, including during public appearances in the early 2000s. Rocky’s updated style has therefore reminded fans of the actor’s younger years.
According to reports from USA TODAY and InStyle, the new haircut has made the resemblance particularly striking.
Although celebrity children often attract attention because of their famous parents, Rocky’s appearance has generated interest for a simple reason: his new hairstyle makes the family resemblance hard to miss.
Sarah Michelle Gellar Shares Rare Family Photos
Sarah Michelle Gellar generally keeps her children’s lives relatively private. However, she occasionally shares family milestones and special moments with her followers.
Her latest Instagram post offered a glimpse into a weekend spent supporting Rocky’s racing interests. The pictures showed the teenager wearing racing gear and spending time with his parents.
The actress’s caption, “Race weekend with my boys,” captured the family outing without turning it into a lengthy announcement.
The post also showed Freddie and Sarah enjoying time together while cheering on their son. Their family photos gave fans a rare look at the couple’s life outside Hollywood.
The reaction was especially strong because Rocky is not frequently featured in public celebrity coverage. His new hairstyle quickly became the standout detail in the pictures.

Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rocky’s Father-Son Resemblance
The latest Freddie Prinze Jr. son new look photos have reminded fans of the actor’s appearance during the height of his early Hollywood career.
Freddie became a familiar face in the late 1990s and early 2000s through popular films such as She’s All That, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Summer Catch.
His short hairstyles from that period have become a point of comparison with Rocky’s current look. The resemblance is particularly noticeable now that Rocky has switched from longer hair to a buzz cut.
Still, the most significant part of the story is not simply the haircut. The pictures show a teenager developing his own interests while sharing a visible connection with his father.
Rocky is growing up outside the constant spotlight that surrounds many celebrity families, and his parents have generally chosen to protect that privacy.
A Look at Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Family
Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar are among Hollywood’s best-known long-term couples. The pair first met while working on the 1997 horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer and married in September 2002.
They share two children: daughter Charlotte Grace Prinze, born in 2009, and son Rocky James Prinze, born in 2012.
Over the years, both actors have discussed the importance of spending time with their children and maintaining a family life away from their professional responsibilities.

The recent racing weekend photos offered another small window into their family routine and showed how they support Rocky’s interests.
